What if my dog won't use it?
Most food-motivated dogs get it in a few short sessions; some take a couple of weeks. Start with the three steps on the Scratch Board's page: treats on the board, then reward any paw touch, then reward real scratches. Keep sessions to a few minutes, and email us if you get stuck. Still not working after 2 weeks of training? Email us within 30 days of delivery with a short video of a training session, and we'll refund you in full.
Does it work on back paws?
The board is made for the front paws, the nails that click the most. For the back paws, you can add a small hand file when you choose your set on the Scratch Board's page, or get a quick trim now and then.
What size dog is it for?
Small to large dogs, one front paw at a time. The board is 13.8 × 9.8 × 1.2 in (about 35 × 25 × 3 cm). Big dog? Put the board against a wall or rest a hand on it so it stays put.
What happens when the sandpaper wears out?
Swap in one of the 2 spare sandpaper sheets that come with the board. When the surface feels smooth, it's time.
Is the sandpaper safe for paws?
Keep sessions short and supervised. The nails do the scratching, not the pads. Stop once the nails look short, and take a break if the pads look pink or sore.
My dog's nails are very long. Can I start with this?
Ask your vet for a trim first. The board is for keeping nails short, not for fixing very overgrown nails.
How long does shipping take?
Orders ship in 1–3 business days and usually arrive in about 2–3 weeks (7–15 days in transit). Shipping is free in the US, with tracking, and you never pay import fees.
What if it doesn't work for my dog?
Follow the training steps for at least 2 weeks. Still not working? Email support@kindpawshome.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a short video of a training session, and we'll refund you in full. Arrived damaged or wrong? Email within 14 days with a photo and we replace it free or refund you in full.
